Grand Kids FoundationCurtis Granderson's mission is to enforce educational initiatives to youth and to help bring the sport of baseball back to the nation's inner cities. The Grand Kids Foundation was established in 2008 as an educational-based organization. Through a variety of yearly events, sponsorships and donations, the Grand Kids Foundation will be able to achieve many of Curtis' goals within the community. Donations to the Grand Kids Foundation will go towards purchasing school supplies for needy families/kids, books and supplies for schools which do not get the funding they always need, establishing baseball programs as well as providing equipment and facilities in some of Michigan 's inner cities and eventually a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors. For more information visit www.grandkidsfoundation.org The Children's CenterA charity devoted to developing strong children and successful families. There are many good human service agencies helping children today, but what makes The Children's Center unique is our belief that the fate of children and their families are closely intertwined. At The Children's Center, we not only work to mend the broken child, we also strengthen the family by opening lines of communication, building confidence and offering them guidance and hope. Visit www.thechildrenscenter.com for more information about this exceptional Detroit organization. Friends of Jacob FoundationFriends of Jacob Foundation is a 501C3 Charity dedicated to providing a vacation of a lifetime and a network of support to families with children who have Autism or other Pervasive Development Disabilities (PDD’s). Each year, the Friends of Jacob Foundation will organize a family vacation in a group setting. These families have so much in common: The increased financial difficulties, unending medical appointments, various therapies, special diet needs, and all the other additional daily stresses associated with raising a special needs child. These things seem to overshadow what most other families simply take for granted. The ability for these families to take a family vacation isn’t something that they would otherwise be able to achieve. The Friends of Jacob Foundation seeks to organize the ultimate vacation for a large group of families with special needs children by providing the transportation and accommodations for them to travel and experience the magic together. The St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher CenterThe St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Garden Party offers a comprehensive range of service to children and families, such as care and treatment for abused and abandoned children, adoption and foster care assistance, pre- and post-natal care education and behavioral health clinics. Visit www.svsfcenter.org for more information. Additional Charity Partners Additional beneficiaries of the DWO include the Schoolcraft College Culinary Salon Team, I Care, Haven, Jack's Place for Autism, Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan and other worthy organizations throughout the region. ![]() ![]() ssssssssssssssssss ![]() ![]() |
