Alix has strong business management experience as well as a background in the food service industry. She has owned multiple businesses for over 15 years. Her passion for wine, as well as her longtime administrative experience led her to this current position.

Mike serves as the DWO's CPA and tax planner. He is a principal-Consulting Pratice Group at Godfrey Hammel, Danneels & Company , P.C.

Michael Schafer, Board Member
Michael Schafer Esq. aka the Wine Counselor, is the charismatic wine educator and sommelier who entertains while teaching. His humorous and fun approach to wine is reflected in his trademark phrase “I taste bad wine so you don’t have to.” His incandescent enthusiasm is contagious. Michael has been featured on CNN, ABC and in the Detroit News. He is a published author and blogs on his informative and amusing website www.WineCounselor.net. Michael judges in international competitions and has taught classes with Madame Charity Suczek at Le Petite Cordon Bleu School of Haute Cuisine. He is a member of La Confrerie des Vigernons de Saint Vincent. Michael has studied wine around the world for over 25 years. The Wine Counselor recently created the Wine Preference Profile, a proprietary tool that helps to de-mystify wine.

Bob Visconti, Board Member
Bob is the former President and Founder (along with other current board members John Lossia and John Marasco) of the Detroit Wine Organization which was created in the year 2000. He has been in the wine industry for more than 25 years and holds the position of “Senior Sales Manager” for Imperial Beverage Company which is a state wide Michigan wholesaler of Premium Wines and Craft Beers.
