Alix Hollis, Executive Director

Alix has strong business management  experience as well as a background in the food service industry.  She has owned multiple businesses for over 15 years.  Her passion for wine, as well as her longtime administrative experience led her to this current position.

Tami Tennant, President
Tami is the Michigan state Manager for Majestic Fine Wines where she manages Kendall Jackson's portfolio of wines. She has been actively involved with the DWO since 2003 and joined the Board of Directors in 2007.

Renee Peck, Vice President
Renee is currently the Director of Annual Giving in the Office of Philanthropy at Henry Ford Health System. She has been fundraising for the health system since 2004 and has served in other roles at Henry Ford since beginning her career there in 1998.

Renee is also active with other professional and charitable organizations, including the Michigan Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Detroit and the Wayne State University Alumni Association.

Mark High, Treasurer
Mark High serves as the DWO's General Counsel. Mark has practiced law for more than 25 years and currently practices in the areas of corporate, international and corporate finance for Dickinson Wright PLLC. In addition to his service with DWO, Mark is Secretary of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan and is a member of the Detroit Regional Chamber.

Mike Lorenz, Board Member

Mike serves as the DWO's CPA and tax planner.  He is a principal-Consulting Pratice Group at Godfrey Hammel, Danneels & Company , P.C.

John Lossia, Board Member
John is the owner of Merchant's Fine Wine in Dearborn. 

Michael Schafer, Board Member

Michael Schafer Esq. aka the Wine Counselor, is the charismatic wine educator and sommelier who entertains while teaching. His humorous and fun approach to wine is reflected in his trademark phrase “I taste bad wine so you don’t have to.” His incandescent enthusiasm is contagious. Michael has been featured on CNN, ABC and in the Detroit News. He is a published author and blogs on his informative and amusing website www.WineCounselor.net. Michael judges in international competitions and has taught classes with Madame Charity Suczek at Le Petite Cordon Bleu School of Haute Cuisine. He is a member of La Confrerie des Vigernons de Saint Vincent. Michael has studied wine around the world for over 25 years. The Wine Counselor recently created the Wine Preference Profile, a proprietary tool that helps to de-mystify wine.

John Marasco, Board Member
John is Vice-President of Sales at Vintage Wine Company.

Bob Visconti, Board Member

Bob is the former President and Founder (along with other current board members John Lossia and John Marasco) of the Detroit Wine Organization which was created in the year 2000.  He has been in the wine industry for more than 25 years and holds the position of “Senior Sales Manager” for Imperial Beverage Company which is a state wide Michigan wholesaler of Premium Wines and Craft Beers.
